Automatisierungstechnik spielt seit langer Zeit eine immer stetig wachsende Rolle an Bord von Schiffen jeglicher Art um Prozesse zu erfassen, zu überwachen und zu steuern. Mit dem Vortrag wird ein Überblick gegeben über die Entwicklung von Automatisierungseinrichtungen an Bord von Schiffen von den Anfängen bis zum heutigen Stand der Technik. Im Focus stehen hier Komplexität der Systeme, die Benutzerfreundlichkeit aber auch die verwendeten Netzwerk Architekturen, die Sicherheit der Systeme und Prozesse und die verwendeten Redundanzkonzepte. Weiter soll einen Einblick gewährt werden in die Herausforderungen und Lösungen von heute, den Anforderungen aus dem Schiffsbetrieb und damit an die Technologie der Automatisierungstechnik aber auch der Einsatz von moderner Kommunikationstechnologie und vor allem die Herausforderungen an den Menschen. Am Ende des Vortrages wird auf die Zukunft eingegangen: Was kommt morgen auf uns zu und was steht an für übermorgen.

Automation is since long time an increasing factor on board of any type of vessel to monitor, supervise and control any type of process on board. With the presentation an overview shall be given about the development of automation technology on board from the beginning to state of the art. In focus are the complexity of the systems, the usability, but also the network architecture used, the safety and security of the systems and the redundancy concepts. Furthermore a view on the challenges and the solutions of today will be given. The operational requirements and therefor the technology of automation, concepts of modern communication technology and last but not least on the human factor. At the end of the presentation future aspects will be touched: what will come tomorrow and what the day after.
